San Rafael Boulder Wier Construction Project

Overview

In 2019, in partnership with Geomorph Design, Spye General Engineering constructed a series of boulder weirs in a steep seasonal stream running through the center of a new housing development. A total of 9 weirs were constructed using mixed size classes of riprap. Between each weir, heavy coir fabric was pinned in double layers after native bunch grass seed was broadcast in the gaps between the weirs.
